What is considered a “new section”?
We aim to create a flexible CMS that will allow re-purposing design components in new pages. Each designed page is broken down to building blocks, by referring to each “Strip” as a separate section with functionality and design. A section can have different styling, and functionality such as — one button, two buttons, no buttons; right alignment / center alignment; Cards with image or without image.
- An average page usually includes around 6 sections, most times 50% can be re-used from previous pages (depending on the design)
- A section that was designed and implemented, can later be used in almost any page on the website
- Average B2B websites have between 30 to 60 unique sections
What is considered a “functionality”?
Your website is a dynamic product, based on analytics and insights you might want to add / change feature on the website which aren’t related to the design of a new section.
New feature can be added to improve the users’ experience, such as new navigation, new interactive functionality such as search or filter, adding multiple authors to a blog post, changing a logo strip to a carousel, adding videos autoplay option, and adding hidden fields to a form.
The new feature can also include backend feature, such as – adding roles to limit users’ permissions, changing URL structure for a specific page type, adding support for a custom JSON scheme, and adding the option to block non-business emails.
What is considered a “style adjustment”?
Website design should change and evolve over time based on feedback from users, the market, analytics, and insights. Style adjustments are any design implementation that requires changing the existing section’s look and feel, without adjusting its functionality.
Examples: changing of padding / margins / width / alignment / color / font sizes / shadows.
Technically we refer to anything that only requires CSS adjustment as style adjustments. We don’t expect you to know CSS, but anything that will require a new functionality will not be just a style adjustment.
What is considered a “big initiative”?
Modern websites are more than just pages and blog posts, you might want to add a more interactive element to your website for better lead generation, SEO, analytics, or brand. Initiatives that require custom design and development are defined separately from new sections as they require logic, integrations, custom backend support, and extra project management.

- Advanced website search functionality
- Interactive Ebook / Report
- Custom video portal with Wistia / Vidyard integration
- Content iFrame (PDF container)
- New ATS (Careers platform) integration
Some of the initiatives will be even bigger and will require custom quotes, examples are – switching a marketing automation platform, overhaul brand change, big content migrations, marketing games, online quote creation, integration with payment providers, custom integration with your product (i.e. showcase your product functionality on the site, or fetch custom product information using APIs).
How do we calculate?
- If you want to add a new page type, i.e. events lobby and inner pages, we’ll count the number of new unique sections in both the lobby and inner page, and this will be the section count. This will also be considered as a new functionality
- If you want to create a new partners page, we can re-use all sections besides one page — that’ll be just one section
- If you want to change a section with an image and form to be able to show just the form centralized — that’s a style adjustment
- If you want to create a new request a demo page, with a new ZoomInfo integration, a new custom design, and have an option to add to the form the source referrer page — that’s 1 big initiative, 2-3 new sections, 1 new feature.
- If you want to create a completely new resource center with integration to Trendemon and create custom pages for each content type — we will probably suggest scoping it as a separate project.
What happens if I need more?
It depends on the requirements, if you exceeded your 20-section retainer and needed 1 more section, we probably won’t charge extra for that. If you need 10 new sections, we’ll either reduce this from the next period, or ask you to pay for the additional work based on our work calculation (we’ll issue a separate quote usually).
If we’ll see it’s recurring that you exceed the retainer – we’ll discuss this and suggest to increase the retainer scope.
What happens if I don’t need the retainer scope?
We try to make the retainer scope interchangeable, so if you didn’t create any new sections over a quarter, but you need a big new initiative which is not in the retainer, we’ll suggest amending the scope without extra payment.
We will do either during our quarterly strategy meeting when we’ll review the focus for the quarter, or on our weekly/monthly calls where we’ll share the status and what’s done and expected to be done.
What if I need something different or custom?
Not everything can fit into a retainer, we have our web solutions team which will be able to assist with scoping and pricing a custom project, like an iPad game for a conference, or a custom integration with your product, or even a complex integration of a platform you’ve purchased. Your project manager will be able to identify those and connect you with the relevant team.
